The event took place in the Fortune
Hotel in Noida, north of New Delhi with

The event was crowned by an extensive and
acclaimed Tango Show provided by
Jonathan Spitel and his partner Betsabet Flores.

Closing the Year with the Governor of Cordoba
and the Mayor of the City
Closing Celebration of 2009
The Consular Corps in Cordoba celebrate closing
the year at Fontana's Restaurant located in the
Dino
Complex where all Consuls and General
Consuls accredited in the Province gather
together. Also
present were Governor of the Province Cr Juan
Schiaretti and City Mayor Dr. Daniel Giacomino.
The Consular Corp
thanked the Governor's continued support and
given the collaboration of all the Consular
Corps to open the doors of each country
represented to the economic, cultural and trade
support that may need the Mediterranean Province.
In turn, both the Governor and the Mayor,
celebrate working together to strengthen
existing ties.

This conference was organized by the Working
Group for Foreign Trade of the UNdeC directed by
Dr. Giselle Javurek in conjunction with the Hon.
General
Consulate of India during
August 28th, 2009 at the headquarters of the
University in Chilecito , La Rioja with the
presence of educators, students, general public,
producers in the region, mayors, university
municipal and provincial
governmental officials,

India was presented as a growing market potential full of opportunities
for Argentina. A short film about India was
projected
Dr. Lais-Suarez explained that "recently the
Indian Government lowered the import tax of
Extra Virgin Olive Oil from 47% to 0% due to the
healthy qualities of the oil over the
cardiovascular system the antioxidant and
cholesterol-lowering benefits. At present,
global imports of olive oil to India amounted to
3,300 tonnes and it is estimated that by 2015
the purchases amount will reach to 42,000 tonnes
"
Also suggest to increase mutual cooperation
throught agreement between Indian Universities
and Universidad Nacional de Chilecito and
exchanges of students and academics.
Also spoke about the possibilities of full
scholarships for advanced students and lawyers
which may rotate in the Surana & Surana India
Law Firm to study the Laws of India and
strategies for doing business among both nations..
On the other hand, will be held shortly a 2-3
Cultural Festival about India to show
music, dance and film from Bollywood.
India´s Independence Day Celebration
Organized by Hon. General
Consulate and Indian Embassy in Argentina
Cordoba City, Argentina.
The
India´s Independence Day Celebration was done at Plazoleta del Fundado, beside
the Cordoba Cathedral, with the presence of the Hon. General Consul of India Dr.
Sergio Lais-Suarez who gave a a talk regarding India and
the centenary friendship with Argentina.
Also he explained about the
Ancient India and the Modern India both with a deep root into the Speiritual
India that permeate the life of all indian.
Lais-Suarez said “the
International Commerce among both nations reach about 1.3 Billion dollars where
India is importing from Argentina around 1.0 Billion dollars each year.
Also explained about differents
cultural activities to be programed in several provinces to show the Indian
dance, music, art, sciences and others areas to tied links between both
countries.
Furthermore talked about the
sucessful 1st July, 2009 "Argentina-India Business Seminar" organized in
Cordoba and Buenos Aires by the Hon. General Consulate, The Indian EMbassy and
the Confederation of Indian Industries.
Accompaning the Hon. General
Consulate were: Production Minister Ing. Luis Gelid from Santiago del Estero
Province, General Consul of Chile Minister Fernando Barrera Robinson,
Chief of National Direction of Inmigration Dr. Jose Mauricio Dominguez,

Sergio Lais-Suarez, lectured in Indira Gandhi
National Open University in New Delhi on
"India: A long-term relationship" at
the 3rd International Congress CELAO 2008: Latin
American Studies of Council of Asia and Oceania.

Dr. Lais-Suarez was accompanied on the panel of
lecturers by Dr. Ravi Thapar, Secretary of State
for Latin America and the Caribbean, Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the Government of India.
This Congress was also organized by the
Jawaharlal Nehru University in India and was
attended by delegates from over 70 countries in
Latin America, Asia and Oceania.
-Visit
to Sonalika Tractor Company in the city of
Hoshiapur which produces 40 thousand tractors a
year. (Argentina produce annually 5000 tractors).
Sonalika also manufactures cars and agricultural
machinery. Dr. Sergio Lais-Suarez was
accompanied by Mr. Carlos Castellani, President
of Apache Argentina SA, manufacturers of
agricultural machinery specialized in “Direct
Seeding”"till" agricultural
technology to increase productivity of the land
of India -
Apache-Sonalika and signed an Agreement of
Mutual Cooperation
-Meeting with the National Deputy of the
Parliament of India and Congress Party spokesman
