Modern India
BRIC
COUNTRIES: THE 4 RIDERS OF HOPE
Bric are called the economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China together.
According to most sources, the term BRIC was coined by an economist of Goldman
Sachs.
It is estimated that by 2050 the BRIC economies will reach almost 50% of Gross
World Product and the 4 countries together will have almost 40% of the
population of the world.
When we look at the sectors with the greatest future we can say without fear of
error that we must focus on Telecommunications, Biotechnology, Renewable Energy
(hydrogen, etc..) Health care (stay young and healthy), Eco-Care system,
articles premiun or luxury and BRIC countries.
BRIC countries are generating demand and thus may set the price of commodities.
It also automatically creates an attraction for investors who will move there.
Within the BRIC countries, India has an increasingly close tie with Argentina
At present trade between India and Argentina reached about 1.3 billion dollars.
Argentina sells to India U$S 1.002 billion (edible oils, food, copper technology
for CNG, etc..), While India sells U$S 328 million (chemicals, raw material for
pharmaceuticals, textiles, handicrafts,etc).
On a more regional view, bilateral trade between Latin America and India reached
U.S. $ 11 billion.
Argentina
has an important opportunity to further strengthen its ties with India and
triple in the next 3-5 years bilateral trade.
Since last year India has a new representative in Argentina: Ambassador R.
Viswanathan who was until the end of 2007 the Secretary for Latin America and
the Caribbean of the Minister of External Affairs of Indian Government
During the last visit to New Delhi of the Consul General Dr. Sergio Lais-Suarez.,
in March 2008, commented to him in a meeting at the Chancellery that
Amb Viswanathan is the man who knows most of Latin America and for that
reason sent him as head of the diplomatic delegation in Buenos Aires.
From this perspective, without a doubt we must take advantage of the current
bilateral ties and create a constant flow of outward and return journeys of
culture, science, philosophy and healthy technology for the "good life",
economics, tourism, by delegation and representative to India and try to become
